Moving to Atlanta Can Be a Fresh Start

By Julie DeLong, A-1 Freeman Moving Group

Moving to New Home

When you move to a new city, it is a shot to get a fresh start. You may not know anybody. While this might be stressful at first, it is also a chance to work on who you are. You can discover all the great things to do in Atlanta, find new social connections, and work on becoming a better version of you.

Get Organized

Once you pack up all of your stuff to move to Atlanta, you truly get to start from scratch in your new residence. This is the moment to get things in order once and for all as you begin to unpack all the cartons.

If you have always thought about trying a new furniture formation in your family room or bedroom, go for it. You can change up the colors, the arrangement, and even get rid of some things that you no longer want before you put them away. As a side note, it is always best to donate them before you even move them – but this is a shot to get organized.

Create "Me" Space

As you unpack and maneuver your items around in your new home in Atlanta, make sure that you set up an area especially for you. This can be your safe haven when you have had an insane day. Whether it is a "man cave" or a book nook in the living room, make a space that you will love spending time in.

Do Something New

Most of us have projects that we have always longed to do. Maybe you have always wanted to participate in local theater or take piano lessons. Once you are in your new locale, go for it. Find a location or class that will help you with the training. It is a chance to learn something new and meet some new folks while you are at it.

Stop Bad Habits

You could have a bad habit or two that you are not fond of. It may be that you do not dust your furniture often enough or that you smoked in your old residence. Regardless what it is that you want to modify, now is the best time to begin. You are in a new home, allowing you to begin from scratch. If you do not want to fall into the same habits, make the decision to change. You could also want to write yourself notes every now and then so that you don’t forget why you are curbing those habits.

Meet the Neighbors

You may or may not know all the neighbors in your current block. After you move, make sure that you put in the effort to meet the people who live closeby. Even though some neighbors may make the first move to welcome you to the neighborhood, there is nothing wrong with introducing yourself and taking the initiative. Meeting the people who live closeby can be a great safety feature. You do not have to be best buddies but it can be opportune to have a contact who will watch out for your house when you aren't there and vice versa.

Don’t forget that moving to Atlanta is only as stressful as you make it out to be. If you know that you are moving to a new town with the desire for a new beginning, it can be a positive boost. You may be eager to get started on a new chapter in your life in Atlanta. Write out a to-do list for your home and for yourself so that you keep in mind all of the tasks that you want to accomplish. Once you have officially moved in, you can then begin on that list.

Best. Move. Ever!
Very pleased with the overall respect and care the men gave to my possessions. Even mailing me very quickly the only thing lost in transit. Would recommend to anyone needing a long distant move.
